Where do you get your minis?

Besides MyMiniFactory or Patreon is there any other size you regularly use to buy/download minis?

Comments

I have bought some models via kickstarter a few times as well

Kel

CG trader and gumroad, also “gamebody” but that’s just for video game related statues.

SoupSam

Pretty much just MMF or CGtrader

Palette Beard

I use cults for 40k related stuff; seems to be the go-to place for that sorta model

Planet Trendy

Anywhere the artist whose work I’m interested in offers them. I’ve downloaded from CGTrader, DTRPG, Gumroad, Thingiverse, and MiniHoarder, I’m probably forgetting a few. I never care nearly as much about the store as the sculpt. The key for STL sales is probably more about SEO than the perfect distributor. If I have a choice, I’ll pick a route that the artist gets more of the sale price, where that is transparent.

David Ammann

most on Patreon, MMF and Cults3D. Some Gumroad, Thingiverse and CGTrader.

Wolfgang Nast

Kickstarter (and patreon) whenever I see something interesting. For (almost) everything else I use yeggi.com which is a multi-site search engine for 3D models, free and commercial.

Jupp3

Mostly MMF, on account of that having the most artists/content. After that probably gumroad for the few random artists I can only find there, and Thingiverse for free stuff.

Jenny Underwood

Gumroad

Anjya Struble

Gumroad and DriveThruRPG. A couple of Patreons use DriveThru for distribution and to store files.

Eric Jackson

Have used DriveThruRPG, Gumroad & CGtrader, but the reality is it is now overwhelmingly MMF.

Joshua Rosenblum

Mmf, patreon, thingiverse occasionally

STLs from Patreon, MMF, Thingiverse, Kickstarter, Minihoarder (mostly KS delivery), DriveThruRPG and Gumroad, occasionally Humble Bundle. Traditional physical minis from Reaper and others

DavidG

Loot Studios, mmf, and thingiverse mostly

Joshua Love

Thingiverse for when I want a simple model or pieces to mix and match, Kickstarter for big comprehensive sets (like Lost Adventures or Skies of Sordane), and I used to use HeroForge, but my collection from various Patreons is so large now I can find a close fit for almost anything I'd need.

Whitney Moss

I've been around a handful of places. MMF, Cults3d, and thingiverse for minis usually. CGtrader and Gumroad for figurines. Yeggi mostly for a sort of search engine for finding things. Patreon for various, obviously.

Marie Stevens

this. there's like 8 sites i download from (outside of patreon), cuz patreons store them everywhere

Dwayne Hinton

For 3d printing, gumroad, thingiverse, Cults3D, Yeggi, other Patreons For physical figures, Reaper and Darksword Miniatures

Jonathan Dang

Cgtrader & cults3d

SteveB

Besides MMF I use gumroad and thingiverse. I've also backed a couple STL packages on Kickstarter. I browse Cgtrader and cults3d but never find what I'm looking for there.

Jbdemonoid

I do buy a decent number of STL sets from Kickstarter-- but I suspect that's not quite what you're asking!

Ash Neblett

Cults3D is the only other site besides Patreon and MMF that I regularly get minis from.

Dustin Henderson

I've picked up a couple from CG Trader

Gallivanter Minis

CGtrader and Gumroad are two that I have also purchased from. But, I have seen several artists who use them also start using MMF. And one Patreon I am on has their own storefront as well, but itch.io is used for fulfilment.

Jacob Mertz

Cults3d and My Mini Factory

Makeshift Razor

Minihoarder, but only because one of the Patreon artists I support distributes with it.

BigKittyPaints

Cults3d, gamebody
