[gijinka] lungs x cig sketches

EDIT: LOL ok sorry anyway these are the sketches for the Lungs x Cigarette toxic yuri kofi request! added the finished art so you could compare.

(i'll do a separate graphic to go over the little char design details later, so feel free to read that instead of the following text-only chunks!)

the 2nd and 3rd sketches were me trying to figure out the outfits i wanted to give the Lungs. Cig's outfit was pretty straightforward - she'd be short, thin, with form-fitting clothing in white/orange/grey/black and some kind of fire and smoke element. you can see that i only sketched her once in my notebook as a testament to how straightforward her design was to make.

the Lungs, though, i was less sure about. how human or not-human did i want them to look? what would a Lung wear?? the oblong shape + pink colour of a lung was represented in their hair (Right Lung has a long, curved ponytail whereas Left Lung's ponytail fully loops around - it's a bit hard to tell, but they don't have the same hairstyle!), so what to do with the rest of their bodies and outfits?

in the end, i went with breezy non-matching outfits (i thought it'd be more fun to create two designs instead of mirroring one design and i was right). Right Lung has a loose one-piece... pants. thing. and running shoes based on "air shoes" (from nike i think). Left Lung has a breezy, summery East Asian outfit. you can imagine the fabric flapping in the breeze, and that air/wind theme fits nicely for "lungs" and "breathing" i think!

their hair sticks have little gold bronchiole(??) orbs, and they have a matching colour scheme so they still look like a matching pair. Right is blue and Left is red because according to some circulatory system diagram i saw, oxgen-poor blood comes from the right side of the heart whereas oxygen-rich blood comes from the left side (which is why you see blue and red veins on human body diagrams, to show this sorta thing). i thought it'd be a good way to distinguish between Right Lung and Left Lung!

oops i wrote more than i meant to .. there are also some sketch previews for the follow-up art where the Lungs umm maybe are influenced a bit too much by smoking ... enjoy!!
