“If you live your life, you have meaning.” God, just…thank you, thank you so much for this. I agree with a lot of your points here, especially regarding connection in communities-I grew up in and still live in a small town where everyone knows each other, and as much as I love the big city, there is nothing nicer than visiting communities where that connection is ever present and people are always finding ways to uplift one another. I’m also immensely struggling with trying to get off social media more-not to get too personal but I’m quite lonely and disconnecting is very hard. It’s videos like these that help me realise that I am not alone, and help me to feel better about the predicament I am in. Listening to you talk is genuinely so reassuring-you articulate your points incredibly well and you have a very refreshing and honest look at the world we live in that feels realistic, but not cynical. I’d love to see more episodes of Nox Radio!!! I’ll be sure not to miss that gathering tomorrow! With this hot weather, I’m gonna need a refreshing drink!!!

2024-07-31 14:45:04 +0000 UTCLove listening to you speak James Random little tidbit from me which I think you were talking about at the end there, I definitely agree with the sentiment that the meaning of life is sort of what you make of it. I'm writing this in a bit of a rush so I may not be super coherent but In terms of having connections in every day life, I think it's definitely true that it's not really usual to have those kinds of connections with the baker or the owner of the petrol station, but I think what that means is that it becomes up to you to make those connections yourself, if that makes sense I take the train most days, and most of the people waiting on the station have earbuds in and are on their phones, but a couple regulars always talk to the worker who's there at that time. Personally I usually run and jump on the train as the doors are about to close so I don't really have much time for either tbh, but Along the same vein, I think spending time with your friends and your family is ultra important, as well as taking time to enjoy the things you're doing. Obviously it can be hard with schedules and everything but if we're talking about how much time we spend on social media, at least some of that time could also probably be spent talking and hanging out with friends or enjoying a hobby etc I was going to keep this short but ended up sort of rambling so y'know apologies about that By the way keep in mind that I am fully literally just in highschool so y'know not exactly the peak of wisdom but Also super pumped for the mass gathering can't wait for paradise

I have feeling that post nap grogginess is just a result of pushing the body too hard, and less so the nap itself. As I've been accepting the post nap lacklustre feeling I've been feeling less of need to nap in general, which has been cool

I feel extremely groggy with short naps and the naps where I do feel rested are usually an hour. Accidental four hour naps make me feel like I woke up in a different day lmaoooooo

2024-07-31 02:27:48 +0000 UTCCouple of thoughts so bear with me lol. First, I say “like” like all the time so I very much related to catching yourself saying “like” and getting self conscious hahaha! Second, 80’s media has to be lying because there’s no way they had their shit together (cocaine probably helped). But seriously, I think burnout from modern society for a variety of reasons (mainly work culture imo) makes it hard to sort of “return” to that state of functionality? Idk how to describe it. Third, I have been getting sick of grindset mentality and wellness hacks too, does not help with my motivation at all. Fourth, while I am guilty of checking my phone on vacation, I think going on vacation helps me with feeling the “vibes” of life, makes me wanna go out and explore places. Gotta figure out how to keep that energy up when I get back, that’s the kinda stuff that actually makes me feel better. Fifth, honestly, getting physical media like Blu-Rays and DVDs helps with the shitty feeling of watching Netflix (also the US Netflix catalog is ass so that’s part of it). Finally, can we get a sample of the “paradise” drink? I’m 100% on board but I wanna know if I’ll like the drink before I ascend. Loved the video!

Also about nap thing, is it just me or does it make anyone else feel groggy? I've tried 20 min naps. They usually end up accidently going into the four hour mark. 😭
