The IRL story so far. An update

So this post is just to update you all on what has happened to me and why it took so long for me to update. You may read this if you want, or not if you don't. TLDR at the bottom.

Anyways, let me just say first that working for the government is hard. Like capital H A R D, hard! Considering that I am currently working under the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of my country, however, it was work that needed to be done. I only had a short break during halloween, but after that, it was two weeks of hell.

Two typhoons hit my country in short order, and earthquakes were almost a dime a dozen, combined to that a minor volcanic eruption that gave scientists like me a quick scare, I literally had no breaks.

Some nights, I had to sleep in the office to write reports, create models, and send out suggestions. Some nights, you would not believe how much I wanted to wring out the neck of some politicians in our country for being obtuse, corrupt, or even downright incompetent.

I am proud to say, however, that after battling corruption, and bracing the typhoons, my work was crucial for saving lives. I successfully managed to predict which roads would be unpassable days before the typhoons came, and sent out warnings to local government units through my boss. We managed to coordinate supplies and relief goods to places we knew would be inaccessible.

All in all, it was good, tiring work, but it was work that I would love to pass on to a team and not carry by myself.

Now, however, there's a destabilization plot going around against my government, but that is not my problem to tackle. I have one week off as a reward, and I plan to use it productively. Let's hope for more updates to come for my stories, shall we?

TLDR: Work hassled me for two weeks so I was not able to write. It's good though, I have a week off.
