And since it was spinning faster than it would normally it would most certainly producing way more than 12v thus burning everything out. Any relays that were on may also be toasted.

Take that old 12 valve you just got and somehow rig the bendix out on the starter and have a peg experiment to see if it will generate 24v. But the only thing I can think of is a 12v motor will only generate 12v. However if its being driven opposite of drive direction, maybe its being ran in "series" which would produce 24v when combined with 12v from battery and alternator. I don't know, I'm not an official rocket appliance. worth the fiddle fuckery vidya.

2024-11-25 03:21:48 +0000 UTC1:07:00 took the charge on two 1100cca 12v batteries to prime up the old 3208 CAT, had to recharge them and solder on one of the battery posts that exploded... floored and the smallest sniff of ether, half a crank rotation and its running. its real easy on batteries after the cold start 8 years of prison in the rat infested grain shed. poor age is food, V636 10.4 ... all 4400CCA 24volt to prime it, the 4 of them 6/0 cables to the starter are good ford it, till the oil starts burning off the clamp it's after 90 seconds.
