Added 2024-11-11 19:13:04 +0000 UTCToday is one day, that in this guy's mind should be every day. What i have was given to me by the American and Canadian men who left their families, gave up er all, grabbed a gun and gave er all, so we could have what we have.
I get pictures and messages from all kinds of American and Canadian vets. It always gets dirt in a fellers eyes to think that even today there are still people who kiss their wives and hug their kids one last time to go out and fight, so we can come home at night and kiss our wives and hug our kids!
Take a few minutes today, sit in quiet to really engage with the thought of how much was, and is given on the daily for what we have, think about all the last breaths taken, wifes and kids left without their fathers, think of the brother's that stand, and stood shoulder to shoulder in bunkers and trenches, ready to take a bullet for what we have.
So many selfless people, who did what needed done, no matter the cost. As long as this ol hillbilly has a beat in his chest and a breath in his lungs, I will not forget!

And my grandfather was a prisoner of the second world war, and he was beaten and tortured, and when he come back from the second world war, he lost his leg, and soon after he lost his life

My Dad served during the Suez crisis and returned home. I'm forever thankful for all of them and the many others who didn't get to return to their families. All 3 sadly no longer with us but I have stories I'll pass down to remind the future generations of what these brave men and women did for all of us. ๐ฌ๐ง
