I remember as a kid a huge scale replica model of the Michigan loader in the main office area. The Building and test track still stand today.

You can go from ny to NH thru Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut aslo. I've been all of them and will recommend Vermont as the most scenic and relaxing way to go. The others are all interstates and turnpikes. Once you get to NH is mostly rural anywhere you go and Maine is all rural no matter where!
