Update #3
Added 2023-11-19 19:00:11 +0000 UTCI'm finally starting to settle into the prose groove. Happily, I've completed three more chapters since the last update. Butβoopsieβthey're all in my dark horse project! (Though I did do some revision on my DDS story). A few more chapters and I'll feel comfortable enough to peel back the curtain and offer some details on this late contender (maybe soon enough that you'll still have leftover pumpkin pie π₯§).
It's funny, but when you finish a big project it's not unlike ending a long-term relationship. That metaphor's a bit iffy to a lover of romance, but it's very apt. π There's often a melancholy that comes on the heels of the triumphant publishing high. What follows is a phase of uncertainty. During that time you "play the field," trying out different ideas or just having fun without any major commitments. Sometimes you even have a "rebound" project! But one way or another, eventually you fall in love again and commit to the long haul. I hope I'm close to that moment. We'll see. π€
