I haven’t lost my dad yet but I “lost” him to meth in 2020, it’s rough watching him struggle but it’s also gotten to the point of no return and there’s obviously nothing I can do about it

2023-10-07 03:36:11 +0000 UTCMy old man is still around. Still working. His body is pretty sacked the fuck out but he's still ticking over. He's 60 next year. I go see him whenever I'm back in my home town. 5 hour drive might not seem like fuck all in Canadian miles but New Zealand roads are just fiddlefucked to all hell. He loves it when I bring my stunned fuckin dog down. I worked with him when I was a fair bit younger, and hopefully I'll try work with him again once I finish my carpentry apprenticeship before he flicks his boots off fur the last time.
