Patreon Update: New Overview, New Tiers, New Rewards, New Community Goals

New Overview

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I can't believe it's only been just a few months since I launched this Patreon! Thank you SO much for sticking with me so far. As you know some of the goals of the Patreon have shifted since I launched I wanted to be completely transparent about that. 

I originally wanted to work with Photographers without Borders through Patreon. However, due a shift in my financial situation, reassessing career priorities, and unforeseen scheduling conflicts, it makes more sense to have Patreon contribute to my living and continuing education expenses. I hope to attend a Photographers without Borders workshop or help out a similar non-profit in the future, and I have no doubt it will happen. I'm just not sure when. You'll notice that the Overview has been updated to reflect these changes so that I'm not misleading anyone.

Good Changes

If you are already a $1 patron, you are officially locked into that number! For everyone else, $1 pledges have been updated to $2 pledges.  It's come to my attention that $1 Tiers are "bad" for creators due to the 33% cut that Patreon takes. You can read more about it here. That being said, I've added the $2 Pay What You Want Tier.  

Again if you are currently pledging $1, you are under no obligation to upgrade.

New Community Reward

Every Patron's name will appear somewhere in my first international gallery show to be completed during my Tokyo residency at Almost Perfect.

Tell a friend! If we reach milestones, I'll be able to send postcards and stickers. Each milestone will help me with goals such as being able to afford a new camera, etc.

Tier 4 $15: The Seer

What Does This Mean + Additional Notes:

• $5+ Tier pledges will be sent a new Gumroad code every month for unlimited photo ref downloads. Every patron will get a free download if I happen to release a new photo pack that month. Next month, I will also organize my Patreon tags into resources, process posts, tutorials etc. so things are easier to find. If you'd rather me consider doing a Dropbox link of everything, let me know in comments to think about for the future. 
• $10+ Tier pledges can DM me their IG handle so I can add them to close friends Instagram stories. 
• $15 Tier pledges will be receiving a package from me! They will be shipped this week. This time international pledges are on me, however, to keep the Tier cost low I will ask for shipping help in the future. 
• $25 NEW TIER:  I will send you signed, one-of-a-kind Polaroids from adventures. My home base is in Seattle, however my 2019-2020 schedule so far includes visits to Los Angeles, Maine, the United Kingdom, Spain, Korea, and Japan. You may receive a Polaroid from any of these places.
