Christmas Image Pack - Christmas theme not included!

Hey everyone,

Here's the promised pack! Bear in mind that they are all in various stages of completion, so expect various stages of sloppiness that I will (do my best to) fix. I'll provide short commentary under each "set".

To kick things off, a reading session with Becky. Not a piece I am very happy with - most of the stuff will be easy to fix, but the side-view of Becky's face makes it look rather flat.

---

A slightly unfinished (and very uninteresting) piece that is yet to be filled with characters and proper background. Got to up the count of total images in this pack somehow!

---

This one is likely the most unfinished of the lot, but it's one time I actually kept a sketch before making the final line art. The second pic shows the beginning of my attempt to find a "color palette" for the piece before I promptly gave up - at least until I find a suitable reference (more on my struggles with lighting later).

---

I have no idea what this is going to be honestly. I just felt like drawing a big ass one day, so... you know! I will probably give the cheeks a little more "warmth" because I feel like the color palette is giving off a slight "horror vibe"; a random ass in the dark, waiting for unwary prey...

---

I struggled a lot with this piece, mainly because I could not catch the right level of "warmth" for the colors. It's an issue I come across quite often and I'll have to dedicate a bit of time studying what the lighting should look like when it's sunny inside or outside. Sunny pun not intended (or was it...)

---

Some Kara! Part of her "sprite rework" will be making her a touch more robust - a little more muscular... and a little more fat. I don't know how well it shows in this picture specifically, and a big reason for that is likely that I don't know how to draw "fat" very well (especially when it comes to "fat clothings folds", which in this picture look like abs... kind of?). Either way, she's definitely not going to be some obese slob or anything, but I feel like her line of work lends itself to a bit of fat covering the big muscles rather than a lean, athletic body.

Also, I don't think her nipples should be showing like that given the context of the scene, but I guess I couldn't resist the urge!

---

And here's a sneak peek of a new character! I will not say who she is, but it's likely not hard to figure that out. The first pic is what my basic idea for the character's appearance was - but it was immediately obvious that she looked far too pedestrian for her status. Thus, I made her look a little more... noble. The face is definitely the most "work in progress" aspect. Overall, I think she may look a little too "imperial" now, but some small adjustments should change that - namely, I think giving her coat the texture of a gambeson will help, making it look less like an officer's uniform.

This sprite was part of a test run for the character sprite rework - and unfortunately, I immediately made a mistake that would render the rework redundant - specifically, I got to rendering her entire outfit without figuring out alternative poses first. The issue is that a huge part of drawing something is an "exploration" of different methods to get it where I want, and often the final product is a result of many of these methods "layered" over one another. While that's perfectly fine for a unique piece of art, the problem can be replicating that process with the same result. In short, if I made a new pose and tried drawing the armor again, there is a good chance that it would look different in some way. That said, it's not a huge issue with this piece specifically to be honest, especially since I realized the error before actually completing this pose+armor combo.

---

No commentary needed, I think! Maybe I'd say that their skin is a touch too "red" in hue, but that's an easy fix. Oh, and she should be wearing panties.

 ---

Largely incomplete piece. This one was an experiment with having the same base and then multiple moving parts - basically, one "camera" angle with the same core pose, but with some elements (hands, expressions, clothes, breasts...) moving around. I know that from the perspective of a viewer/player it's far from a novelty idea, but the execution is a nightmare of photoshop layer management. It was somewhat easier with the Trisha piece in last episode (the one where she puts her feet in the MC's lap), but this one was quite challenging because different parts overlap at different times. Still, I think the final product will be worth it - and it is a fairly time-efficient way of making a scene feel more dynamic without having to commit to multiple unique artworks for a single.

Another largely incomplete piece, though this time mostly because I couldn't decide on her clothing. Funnily enough, I struggled a bit with the lighting for this piece and so I looked to AI image generator for help. Basically, I gave the AI the image I had already drawn and gave the appropriate prompt ("a tall, busty woman drinking wine in front of a fireplace" or something like that) and then let the AI "finish" the piece for me. While nothing the AI generated is in the picture, it still gave me a hint about what I was doing wrong - specifically the shadows on her body were too strong, so I just toned them down a little and smoothed the whole thing over.

I lost most of the generated images when I closed my browser but here is one that I did save.

Looking between the pieces now, her skin could still do with a little improvement, maybe add a bit of blueish backlight from the window. Like I said, though - largely incomplete piece overall.

And to wrap things up, an older collection of Sunny sketches. I did them mostly to practice drawing her face from different angles (and honestly, I may have shown them before on Discord)

Anyhow, that's the whole lot! Let me know if you like previews like this, we can do these more often to make the wait for a new episode feel at least a little bit shorter.

And once again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love you all,

Worlaix
