About The Legend of Danica!
Added 2018-11-28 23:29:25 +0000 UTCSo, while I'm further learning 3d game development, and programming in general, I'm also doing a lot of thinking on how to finally get this off the ground for real. However I want to really know what I'm even going to do before I start this time, in order to avoid it turning into a hyper polished 5 second experience and me getting lost in learning intricate programming techniques without ever getting to an actual playable game (I seem to swing that way, I don't know why).
So here's kind of what I'm envisioning at the moment (and while really trying to not make it overly complicated). The game will, at its core, play like the original pokemon for gameboy. The player will control our lovely heroine Danica, and walk her through her adventures mainly in sort of this perspective:

It's cute and simple making me independant of 3d assets and 3d modelling which I still really suck at. Not too sexy though, which is why dialogue and interactions will then bring up popups like so:

Combat will then be in a separate scene, and show the sprites of the monster futas you've captured, as they fight the enemies. I couldn't find a good inspiration image for this, but I'm thinking a bit like so:

I think I won't include levelling up your futa monsters for now, and instead make it so that you progress by capturing stronger ones, and by learning stronger spells (with which to boost your futas in combat). So in an attempt to stop myself from trying to code something ultra complex (and inevitably hitting a wall again) I'm thinking of keeping combat fairly simple for now, with the player mainly just being strategic in how he combines his futa monsters to bring about their synergies, and equip them with items. I think it's best, for now atleast, to not allow the player to control the monster girls individually, and to just have them duke it out with their stats/items and the players buffing/healing spells. It should feel like the player is a powerful summoner/witch after all. With a gigantic cock. *cough*
The sexyness will be mainly in the story and character interactions, I'm thinking. I've tried really hard to come up with game mechanics that involve sexy stuff without making the mechanics stupid and silly. And I kind of couldn't think of any. Most adult games fall short here and I've rarely found any worth playing for longer than 5 minutes, so I want to not make that mistake.
