This postcard was my best imitation of Jaime Hernandez, whose latest comic collection, Life Drawing, recently came out. I really love how the world he draws is a combination of realistic and cartoony, mundane and dramatic:

Speaking of "life drawing," I've been doodling in my sketchbook when I have downtime. These are some Judge John Hodgman fans at Revolution Hall.
My newish job involves going to Seattle about once a month to work the box office for an evening concert. We usually jump back in the bus as soon as the concert is over, so I don't see much of the city. But in February we stayed overnight and left the next morning. I felt pressured to make the most of a teeny bit of free time.

I got a membership to the Hollywood Theatre (thanks parents!) which shows a great variety of new and classic movies. It's really fun to watch a movie with an enthusiastic crowd.
That might be the first harmonica I've ever drawn, if you're wondering what Shoulder Angel is holding.
These next sketches are from a jazz show. The singer/songwriter/pianist Kathleen Hollingsworth performed with our choir, and we chatted on the bus ride home from Seattle.

My office is very private compared to the children's theater box office, which was on a downtown street. But I still get these interactions now and then:
