Spring at the children's theater

Hi patrons!

This month has been a doozy. I wish I was unveiling a shiny new SuperButch Issue 6 cover, but I'm in a cycle of "This week is unusually busy, but next week maybe isn't." Also, COVID slowly worked its way through my entire multi-housemated house, despite our isolating, wearing masks in the common spaces, eating in our rooms, and everything else we could think of. We got relatively lucky in terms of symptoms, knock on wood, but wow that was exhausting.

The theater teens did Shrek Jr. last weekend, for our first live audiences in 2 years! On top of being a Box Office Manager, I've also been organizing the upcoming costume sale:

We, uh...still need to do some organizing before then.

Some other cool-and-fun things: Earlier this month, an architecture professor requested a building tour for his students, as part of a unit on theater/education spaces. I love our building to death and I know how quirky/dysfunctional it is in a lot of ways, so I happily spent a couple hours showing everyone around. (Note: the architecture students looked much younger than I expected. I need to recalibrate my eyeballs again.)

It was a stunning spring day. Our lease on this building is actually up in September, so it felt special to show off the building and to walk people all the way through it, from the dressing rooms to the boiler room.

I've also started helping paint sets! (We are shorter staffed than in the Before Times.)

I imagine the novelty will wear off, but so far, I fucking love putting on paint-stained clothes, turning on the radio, and putting colors down on a large scale for a few hours, while the Master Carpenter does painting or sawing or whatever nearby.
