Hi patrons!
I'm organizing a costume sale for the theater, now that we've reorganized and culled a bit. So if you're in Portland, keep May 7-8 open! I'll let you know when we have details. We're also getting ready to sell tickets for two theater-teen shows and a professional show in the next couple months, so my brain is bouncing from March to June and back, with several stops in between.
In the meantime, spring break camp:

Front desk sketches:

...and workplace coiffure:

I had an hour of time in between errands and work the other day. I'd heard that a beloved downtown diner called The Roxy was closing, so I checked it out. I've been more of a Daytime Gay™ in Portland, so I was unaware of this all-night diner/haven for LGBTQ Portlanders of all ages and kinds. It sounds like the type of place you'd write into a story because you wish it existed. Here's a short-and-sweet article where some regulars talk about what The Roxy meant to them.
Here are my thoughts while I waited for a breakfast sandwich:

It was the morning after St. Patrick's Day, so the street was still pretty sleepy.

The waiter had a squeegee for the picnic tables, and the sun kept peeking out, so I stayed there to finish the drawing...

...and added ink wash at home.

...and I totally bought a shot glass.

This summer I swear I'm gonna make time to draw outdoors more often. I had to rely on some outdated Google street view for the front of this next postcard:

That was an accidentally bleak note to end on. (I guess the closing of The Roxy is bleak, too.) I hope you enjoyed the postcards and sketches, though! Thanks, as always, for supporting me on Patreon.
