Hi Patrons,

This page wraps up Issue 6! (I guess you're ok with cliffhangers if you're reading SuperButch a page at a time, but if not...Blame Barry.)

I started this page by drawing four different backgrounds and asking Barry to choose one.

They were all based on buildings that I'd noticed around Portland, and then looked up on Google street view to draw. Here's a side-by-side of the drawings and the real buildings:

The dog-choreography was inspired by a years-ago visit to Brooklyn. A friend was walking her dog, and couldn't even get around the block without having to pull the dog away from enticing garbage piles and/or wrest pieces of sidewalk-chicken out of her mouth. The friend no longer lives in Brooklyn, and seems very happy with that decision.

Are you into audiobooks? I'm currently listening to The Paying Guests on Libby. (Apparently Sarah Waters wrote more books after The Night Watch and no-one told me?!) I started listening to this one without checking a synopsis, and it is a RIDE. The author is really good at turning up the dial slowly from slice-of-life to lesbian-pining to bad-idea?-romance to suspense... Actually, if you'll excuse me, I think if I resume listening now, I can find out what happens before midnight...
