Barry here!
Sorry the page is late this week. Some pages are just mysteriously hard to draw; a face that would normally come pretty easily just needs to be redrawn and redrawn before it'll come out right, that sort of thing. It happens to me a few times in every project, and I think this was one of those pages for Becky. (That she's still exhausted from a lot of recent traveling probably didn't help.)
But it was worth the wait! I really like the way this page looks. I know that Becky found the low-ceiling attic setting I asked for a pain to draw, but it came out great.
This scene is exactly the sort of page that would get cut if we were working with a set page count. It doesn't really advance the plot. But I love this page; it's fun (to me, anyway), and it (I hope) gives the readers a stronger sense of Lily's and Kansas' relationship.
Thanks so much for supporting SuperButch! Becky and I super appreciate it. You're making it possible for us to make a low-key queer historic-fiction superhero comic, and believe me, there are not many of those on the market!
