Doctor Who: Classic (7x4 #1) | Early Access

Comments

Didn't say this in my comments yesterday, so I thought I'll just address it here instead. Y'all say that just one line could've explained why UNIT and the Doctor were interested in the Inferno project and why the Doctor wanted to conduct experiments of his own. Well, let's take a look at some lines from the episode shall we. Episode 1 to be precise: Brigadier: Doctor, why were you so keen to observe this project? Doctor: Well, it's a matter of great scientific interest, my dear fellow. First penetration of the Earth's crust. Well, naturally I'm interested. Brigadier: Yes, of course. Doctor: Yes, well, I'd concentrate on finding that rigger if I was you. Well, excuse me, I must get back to work. Brigadier: You're taking part in the project? Doctor: Yes, in a way. Some related experiments, you know. The Doctor is definitely interested in the project to some degree, but the main reason why he's there is because he views the project as an opportunity to get his TARDIS to start working again. They set up the Doctor's motivations for being at the project from the very beginning. I love y'all's reactions, but sometimes you guys really aren't that good at reading between the lines. As for why UNIT is there, they were just accompanying the Doctor on his little trip at first (only Benton and the Brigadier seemed to be there anyway), but then the murder took place - and considering the strange circumstances surrounding it (the red hot wrench found at the site of the crime for instance) - the Brigadier figured they would set up base and provide security for the research complex. It's similar to 'The Silurians' in this way. I realise a lot of these 'complaints' probably aren't worth addressing because they aren't big enough to take away from y'all's overall enjoyment of the story. Idk though, I still feel a need to clear up any these misinterpretations for some reason. To quote Carrington, "it's my moral duty".😅 Now the long wait for next week....
