Good reaction. I'll post the answers to some of your questions but not include anything that can be a spoiler: T-Bag: in his debut episode, the guy in the bleachers tells Michael T-Bag raped and killed a bunch of teenagers in Alabama (and not always in that order). So yeah, he's the worst. Abruzzi: He was Mafia and is doing life after Fibbonaci testified about what he saw John doing and provided courts with documentation of their crimes and future crimes he planned to commit, one if which was more murder. Sucre: we don't know exactly what he did but we are to assume it was theft since Lincoln in episode 3 called him a "thief and can't be trusted". C-Note: we have no idea so far and no hints other than his prison racket of acquiring contraband, which is equatable to the black market. Lastly, Quinn was the first character introduced that represents "The Company". Pay attention to more of that entity.
