The white Robots were previously used in the final episode of season 2 of "Out of the Unknown" called "The Prophet" only then they were dark grey. As they were still in storage when The Mind Robber was produced they were useful for a 2nd use.

This was Troughton's favourite story. Also Frazer Hines was struck down with scarlet fever during production so Hamish Wilson was drafted in ,it was not a holiday.
