The Master is the real master of hypnosis, but he did teach the Doctor a bit. WOTAN isn't alien, the War Machines aren't Daleks, but ironically what the Doctor is sensing is probably the Daleks...They did tone Dodo down because the BBC didn't like it, but I guess they got over it, though it will take until Seven to get a Doctor that doesn't speak RP, yet Tennant will later not be allowed to use his natural Scottish accent which would reverse again by Capaldi. Black wrote the Savages. Lol the kid was a lie, Dodo was basically escaping from a god that was holding her prisoner, it's a book called Salvation. I beleive the War Machines emit some kinda radiation that causes the bullets to expand and stops them from being able to fire down the barrel
