I live in the Midwest and it isn't at all uncommon for grain bins to have explosions caused by dust that gets set off. And sometimes the explosions actually destroy buildings. For instance waaaay back on May 23, 1975 in Davenport Iowa [near where I live] the Robin Hood Flour Mill had a flour dust explosion that leveled the building and killed 4 people. It happens.
