I already quite liked this one, but I enjoyed this a lot more upon rewatching it with you two. Really solid historical, right behind "The Aztecs" for me. It's still a shame about the missing episodes because the story would be even better if it fully survived.

I think it's quite an interesting story, but I think it suffers from being half missing. I think this is one of those stories that would be significantly improved if the rest of it's episodes were found. Still, at least it's the ONLY story this season to have episodes missing, so there is a silver lining. To be perfectly honest though (and I hate to say it in a way), I'm counting the weeks until you get to Toughton. I've said this before, but the story quality in Hartnell's era is fairly up and down. Don't get me wrong, Hartnell does have a lot of good- some even great stories (with a few still to come) - but it's not until Toughton shows up that DW becomes a consistently great show and turns into the sort of show you'd recognise as someone who's seen most of new Who now. I love Hartnell, but I'm ready for Troughton at this point. You've still got many more weeks to get there yet though....
