"It shall not end until my death" Jon gave his life for the Watch, his second life is his. I loved Thorne's last moments. Ned's aging was appropriate, Robert's Rebellion was 17 years prior to the series so assuming he's early 20s that'd put him a year or two over 40 when it starts. They fought Ser Oswell Whent of Harrenhal, Lord Commander Ser Gerold Hightower of Oldtown, and Ser Arthur Dayne of Starfall, the Sword of the Morning, often cited as one of the finest swordsmen to ever live, even Barristan Selmy thought he was the best. He wielded Dawn, the Dayne sword forged from a meteorite that didn't pass from father to son, but would only be wielded by a Dayne who proved himself as a master swordsman. Howland Reed brought him down, and after the Tower of Joy Eddard would return Dawn to Starfall and back into the service of House Dayne. Olly didn't just try to kill Jon, he gave him the final death blow through his heart, that's pretty fucked.
