The Sontarans made their first appearance in a 3rd Doctor story. They turned up once in a while in the Classic series;but were never really among the top echelon of Monsters.

2019-01-11 08:01:52 +0000 UTCTo be fair the Doctor can barely fly the TARDIS and he's a genius Time Lord, it'd be nigh impossible for a human to do it with any accuracy, and a bit of luck. It's always fun to see an anti-authoritarian of his caliber come up against UNIT, and even more so when it's similar to the Third Doctor years and he has to balance having close friends in UNIT but also being pretty against everything they do. Wasn't sure if you caught it when the Doctor told Donna he worked for UNIT in the "70s...or was it the 80s" which I think is the first nod to the UNIT Dating Controversy.
