Jaime going back for Brienne is an important moment of revelation about his character - I think you can tell how much he wants to be a man of honour & how much his instinct is towards kindness. I'm not saying he's perfect - just that circumstances have almost forced a role upon him as the "Kingslayer" which he holds as a type of armour around himself that prevents his better instincts being given free reign.

That makes sense. Geez. I forgot about Viserys. Daenerys and the show have come so far!

I think Dany has an aversion to slavery in particular becuase she essentially grew up as a slave to her brother, objectified and sold by her only kin and treated more or less as a piece of treasure to achieve his goals. As she became more powerful and confident, she made it a conscious decision to be the antithesis of who Viserys was and what he valued.
