Hey there! Thank you for being a Patron! Here's the full reaction to DR. STRANGELOVE!

This is a Level 5 Patreon Tier Movie Request from Kathy Ice!

This was definitely interesting. Definitely had its funny moments, it was pretty entertaining overall, but towards the end I was very much like HUH? at some points. Overall a good watch and I hope you enjoy as well!

NOTE: You follow along with your own copy of the movie; I have a little timer right at the beginning where it counts down and shows the word "play" when I myself start playing the movie. I also have a timer synced throughout the movie so you're also in sync the whole time! If you don't have your own copy, then you'll have pretty much no idea what's happening!

Oh I definitely got that, my confusion was more for Dr. Strangelove himself and the whole like, walking and whatnot like HUH 🤣

So, that final sequence was meant to convey that the Doomsday Device was activated, the bombs went off, and all life on Earth ceased to exist. Yay! There's a reason this movie is sometimes called the blackest of all black comedies.

It's all good, no sweat. Part of what makes this film so different is the demented brilliance of Stanley Kubrick. He loved to challenge his audiences by not spoon feeding them messages and interpretations of his work. He just puts it out there with the expectation that we will find our own meanings. He would rather have us ask the question "What does this mean and does it have value to me?" rather than ask "Is this good?" For the most part, it works. Sometime though, all you can do is recognize the absurdity and think "WHAT?" Nuclear weapon doctrine is prime fodder for this and if you're sincerely asking "WHAT?" and trying to find your own answers, the film succeeded.

Side note, I had no idea this was basically a comedy about the Cold War, and I guess I realize it more as I watch, but there was just a point where I wasn't sure anymore LMAO so bear with me??
