Misery is definitely the scariest Stephen King book I've ever read (and my favorite of his). Just by nature of the plot I thought there was no way they could make a good movie out of it, but they proved me wrong and I love it! The book is still my favorite, but holy crap Kathy Bates is amazing.

You could do a lot worse than doing a run of Stephen King's film adaptations, STAND BY ME, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and GREEN MILE come pretty close to mandatory viewing. DOLORES CLAIRBORNE brings back Kathy Bates in a role every bit as well crafted and performed as Annie Wilkes. CARRIE scared the hell out of me. THE MIST completes the Stephen King / Frank Darabont trilogy with one of the most gut punching plot twists I'm glad I couldn't have conceived. E.T.A. - Sorry, just noticed that you've already seen (and appreciated) GREEN MILE.
