I'm so glad that they didn't let us see what Dawn brought back. They left Joyce's memory intact. Honored. Not violated by a botched resurrection. And Buffy and Dawn really needed that conversation, things to come out that both of them had been holding back. There's definitely concerns here about Willow and the way she is handling magic. She didn't seem to understand why what she did was dangerous, until Tara explained it, and even then she didn't seem to take it as seriously as Tara did.

Vincent Schiavelli, who played Jenny's Uncle in season 2, had been nominated for an Academy award, but Joel Grey was the first actor they had on the show to have actually won an Oscar (best supporting actor for Cabaret 1972). Although they already had Joel in mind for the part apparently they were still really reluctant to ask him, because they didn't think an actor of his level (Broadway legend, Tony and Academy award winner) would even agree to be on a show like Buffy. According to reports at the time it turned out there concerns were unfounded, because he was actually a fan of the show, and was thrilled to be asked to play a role.
