I've actually never liked Riley that much. I was honestly waiting for his departure. He was decent at first but I kinda got sick of him. It’s also a fact that Buffy has never on screen, told Riley that she loved him. Like ever. And I think he feels that lack of emotional attachment with her which is what drew him to the vampires or whatever. But yeah. I don't think Riley’s forgettable I just think it isn't easy to really care about him after the initiative plotline is over. That's what kept him interesting.

2025-06-02 14:38:39 +0000 UTCJer saying that Riley is a forgettable character I totally disagree. I thought Angel (not Angelus) was more forgettable On BTVS in my opinion. I feel the way Riley left was a bummer because I did like his character. I thought at least he could have left with more of a respected character if he didn't technically cheat. He had a valid reason for his feelings. However, the issue I had with him is the fact that there was no communication. Also, the fact fans side with Spike is weird, lol. He's Evil and only telling on Riley for his own personal gain.
