Yes, exactly, impressive insight with this. I was never a fan of Buffy and Angel as a couple, but I was even less of a fan of Buffy and Riley, and I always love it when people can articulate some of the reasons why.

2025-05-30 13:06:06 +0000 UTCYou asked what they did when the Doctor was talking about whether the tumour was operable. They did a biopsy to start with to determine exactly what the shadow was. Some tumours are benign and don't always have to be removed, others are that slow growing that you have a bit of time before surgery is needed, and of course others are the really bad kind and surgeons need to know exactly what they're dealing with, the margins of the tumour, areas of brain involved etc. I got diagnosed with Marginal Zone Lymphoma (a type of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma) a few years ago. Full diagnosis and staging took several rounds of blood tests, a bone marrow biopsy, and a nuclear imaging scan before we even got to the point of discussing treatment. It turned out in my case, because of the type of cancer I have, I don't need treatment unless the cancer becomes more active and/or symptomatic. So I go for a checkup at a cancer treatment centre twice a year and get on with my life.

He wants to be there for her in the way HE feels he should be there for her. He's not stopping to think about how he should support her in the way that she NEEDS him to support her. Like you said - he's making it about him. Very perceptive and emotionally intelligent of you. <3
