Remember what Spike said in Season 3, Lover's Walk: "I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it." Well....I think love just bitch-slapped him, LOL.

Yes, he still says silly stuff (he's a goofball at heart, doubt that will ever change), but you notice how he was building that beautiful shelf for Giles' shop and talking about carpentry? We saw in The Replacement that they said his work was "stellar" and he was given a promotion. Not fired for once. It seems Xander has found his niche in construction, a very solid career choice, along with moving out of his parents' basement. He's finding his footing and moving forward, and it's really good to see that. Though I would say it was starting last season that I wasn't minding so much Xander's occasional off-color jibes to Buffy and Willow, because when you're that close of friends, those jokes don't mean anything but good-natured teasing. It occurred to me that my friends and I talk like that to each other; we've known each for years (some of us for decades), and are completely comfortable with off-color remarks and teasing. We know each other's lines not to cross. So I see that in the trio of Xander, Buffy, and Willow, and it just makes me smirk instead of roll my eyes at Xander. He's THAT friend, the goofy one, but he's also right there when needed. It makes any actual immaturity from him a bit more tolerable.
