At least they got someone with Native blood to play Hus instead of outfitting some random white actor. I don't know what Nation Tod Thawley is or if he's full blood Native (probably not), but he's on a list of Native American actors, so at least they did the casting right.

The Natives were already here, and the Vikings came long before Columbus accidentally bumped into the continent. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving either, though I did do the family dinners while my parents were alive, because it meant a lot to my mother. Having (Alaskan) Native ancestry ourselves, we simply used it as a celebration of family and togetherness, without all the historical b.s. and falsehoods. This episode sometimes gets dumped on because it can be seeing as trying too hard, too heavy-handed on the theme (it's also rather dated now), but I enjoy it for the humorous scenes and the inclusion of Spike. Spike's terror of the bear is a classic!
