Agree. Parker made good points and wasnt wrong. But what he says and what he did were very different. Casual sex is okay. But he never told Buffy thats what he wanted. He didnt say anything. Thats lying by omission.

BUT...yes, you *do* have to make it clear. You don't need to say, "I'll never grow old with you," or whatever he said, but you do have to make it clear it's a casual thing. Both people (or more if more are involved, lol) need to be on the same page and understand the situation. Buffy was deliberately led to a different idea of what their intimacy meant by that psycho, and he got off on it. Like Riley said with contempt, "his latest conquest." From Merriam-Webster Dictionary, psychopathy is a: "mental disorder especially when marked by egocentric and antisocial activity, a lack of remorse for one's actions, an absence of empathy for others...." Parker may or may not have an actual mental disorder (I went into civil law, not psychology), but he fits some of the characteristics. He gets off on hurting women like this, as if it's all a game to him.

2025-03-14 23:05:08 +0000 UTCI'm in the minority of enjoying this episode; I think it's pretty damn funny, taking absurdity to an interesting place. Cave Buffy is awesome. Parker getting bonked repeatedly is amazing and cathartic. I also appreciate that, while that one frat guy in particular is a pompous jerk, those guys did *not* try to take advantage of Buffy. They flattered her, sure, but they also talked to her, included her in their group, and didn't try to get her to come back to their frat house/dorm rooms, or really hit on her in a sleazy way. I think it was what she needed (silly beer stuff aside), to just enjoy being admired and being in the company of men, but not feel pressured, insecure, or uncomfortable. (Well, their first meeting with Buffy was cringy, but otherwise they turned out to be decent with her.)

2025-03-14 22:23:05 +0000 UTCI’m glad you thought it was funny because I hate this after school special ass episode so much lmao. The only bits I enjoy are the Xander insecurity scenes, the Willow/Parker confrontation, and Buffy knocking Parker out Edit: Actually, this has some good elements. I just wish the supernatural element wasn’t “beer turns people prehistoric”
