I agree, most everybody gets random, stupid, or dark thoughts, for no apparent reason. I'm not sure when it comes to the people who don't actually hear words in their minds or have no visualization; my mind is noisy and filled with vibrant, elaborate visions. So I can at least speak for myself and say yeah, those thoughts come to me, randomly, chaotically, out of the blue. As for the thoughts of driving into traffic or stepping off a building, etc., those types of random thoughts even have a term because it's been documented so often. It's "the call of the void," and it doesn't mean the person is actually considering self-harm; they're just bizarre thoughts that flick into the human brain for no real reason. I wouldn't want to read human minds. That way lies insanity. If I could have a super power, it would be to either speak with/understand animals, or to auto-understand and speak every human language. I'm not sure which I would want more, TBH.
