Sorry, I keep commenting during the watching of this, and thinking of new things. Too many edits of previous comments, and they disappear altogether, lol. Yeah, that ending for Trick was so anti-climatic and blah. They wasted a great potential villain. First he becomes the Mayor's lackey, and then he just gets staked in a brief-ish battle with the Slayers. There was soooo much more that could have been done with him; I really liked the character.

She was getting a taste of the power and getting off on it, and she was already sexually assaulting him, which is about power and dominance. We've seen in these last two episodes that when she decides to do something, she impulsively and recklessly goes through with it and deals with the consequences (or doesn't deal with them) later. No matter what she told Angel, it's the same deflection she used after accidentally killing Allan; she does not accept the responsibility for her actions and waves it off casually. Whether or not she feels deeper than that is irrelevant. Or not so much irrelevant (I think that's the wrong word), but it's not the point and has no bearing on whether or not she was going to finish the job. Take a look at Xander's throat afterwards; that was no casual play. It was deadly force that made those marks. Yeah, in my opinion, with her attitude, rush of power, and reckless/impulsive nature, Xander would have been murdered.

Loving Xander as long as she has, she probably had in the back of her mind (and in the past the front of her mind, too) that they would be each other's first lover. That's reason 1, Xander gave his virginity to another, while Willow has not. Reason 2 is that he's her best friend, and as he proclaimed at her hospital bedside during the Season 2 finale, they tell each other everything...but he didn't tell her this; he kept this milestone a secret from her. Reason 3, Faith has been wedging between her and Buffy, and Willow still hasn't fully vented about that because she was cut short by Buffy's more critical situation, and now it seems Faith wedged between her and Xander as well, without Willow having even been aware. Out of those reasons, I really think #2 is the main one. He didn't even confide in her about it. She found about it like that, and I think it cut deeply. Perhaps she feels he was pulling away from her as a friend after the whole Oz/Cordelia situation, and Faith is an extra slap in the face, given the Faith/Buffy duo shutting out Willow. A little convoluted of an explanation, hope it makes some sense. That's what I always felt was the situation with Willow weeping, though. (Weeping Willow, LOL, see what I did there? I'm bad.) Her crying this out alone, a 17-year-old girl with big emotions and caught between two love interests -- even though she ultimately chose Oz -- is understandable. I remember going through some serious emotional upheavals at her age, and sometimes, you just have to let it out.
