Faith couldn't have shown up in that reality because she was never called. Until Buffy faced the Master and completed that prophecy by dying, as she did in this episode, Kendra would not have been called (and no doubt still living a lonely, cloistered existence without friends, family, or romance in anticipation of becoming the Slayer). Without Kendra being called and then dying, Faith would not have been called as the next Slayer. The Master is free and in charge because if Buffy had never showed in Sunnydale, the Harvest would have happened, thus freeing him from his mystical prison. Angel never lost his soul because he never fell in love and then consummated that love. Oz would still have been bitten by his cousin Jordy because that had nothing to do with Buffy, and no doubt Giles investigated the werewolf attacks and found Oz, thus bringing them together in the White Hats. I love that Larry was included as one of the heroes fighting and resisting the new regime. What-if and alternate reality episodes can be awesome when they are handled properly, as I feel it was here. I find the episode fascinating with all the twists and possibilities. Alternate-Oz killing Vampire Willow was one of those satisfying twists (although of course, cheaters don't deserve actual death, so it was good it was a demonic Willow that turned to dust and not the one in the core reality, lol).
