2025-01-13 07:48:02 +0000 UTCYes, I did indeed see that video where the guy cut his arm breaking the window to terrorize his ex. From what I heard, he did live, but that was Karma at work. John Ritter will forever be a special part of my childhood. I literally cried when I heard the news he had died. He did a lot of comedic roles, so seeing how good he is here as an abusive, serial killer robot is a bit of a mindfuck, in a good way. I imagine this episode is difficult to watch for many people, because -- aside from the robot plotline -- people like Ted really exist, and that scene with him at mini golf was especially chilling. The intimidation, the seething anger, the threat of physical violence, only to turn around and put on a charming, happy persona to everyone else. I know she was on the cookie treatment, but Joyce not believing Buffy when she said that Ted had threatened her was truly disappointing. If your teenager or child tells you that your partner, or anyone, is hurting or threatening to hurt them, BELIEVE them until and unless it's proven otherwise. Obvs, there are kids out there who lie about such things, but it still has to be taken seriously and investigated.
