2024-09-13 19:03:50 +0000 UTCI feel the same way. As hard as it sounds Jo wasn't more than an egg donor in that case. Would you consider an egg/sperm donor as the real parent ? Yes Rick loved her and they wanted these children together but Jo died and Caroline birthed and raised them. She is their mom DNA doesn't matter in that case. I'm adopted for example and my parents are the people who adopted me and that the people who gave me DNA.

She carried them longer than Jo did, and given the fact they had to get all their nutrients and everything from her, I don’t even believe they don’t have her dna. She also birthed and raised them, she’s more their mom in literally every way.

Also, I just want to say I'm not trying to hate on Josie or anything. It's a problem I have with the writing mostly.

She has to work on that, and not ever thinking about what Josie wants is a big issue. But it does irk me a bit that Josie doesn't seem to be held accountable for her contributions to their messed up dynamic, or anything bad that she's done. We brushed past her lying to Lizzie for years and letting her fight with Hope, and even going as far as pretending to hate Hope herself. She talked with Hope about how Lizzie "had dibs" on Rafael and how terrible she was for that, but Josie never told Lizzie that she liked Rafael. In fact, Lizzie told Josie from the start that she wanted to pursue Raf, and Josie actively hid all the moments she had with him. Lizzie is not a great sister, but Josie constantly hides her feelings from her and then gets mad that Lizzie doesn't just know.

2024-09-09 23:26:44 +0000 UTCI like how this also gives context on why, even when directed at Penelope, Penelope was always so seemingly proud whenever Josie stood up for herself / fought back. She was just desperate to get Josie to start showing more self-perseverance and selfishness after learning that the merge was coming for them.
