Sure, a lot of us watched TVD bc of the vampire stuff but by the time The Originals was made we didn’t watch it because of the vampire stuff, we watched it because this ancient family and their plots were captivating. We wanted to see more of them. ~sort-of spoilers ahead in terms of show development~ Legacies tried to straddle both sides, pulling us in with new creatures but applying to characters we wanted to see more of: Hope and the twins. Instead, they ended up focusing more on the monsters than the characters.

Having someone from town being brought into this new world they had no idea existed and having to acclimate to it and a new hunger, new powers, it’s the perfect way to bring in a new character or introduce a main character. Probably what they should’ve done for Landon.
