2024-08-17 01:49:43 +0000 UTCThey really hit Clary with a classic, and stupid, book trope... that wasn't even in the books! No FMC is allowed to keep her special powers at the end of the series :( I actually never watched the finale episodes. I was spoiled on what happened with Clary and just thought it was such a bad ending that I refused to watch it lol. So now five years later I have finally seen the whole series. I think what makes it worse is how great the rest of it is. Malec wedding, Sizzy finally becoming a couple. Why couldn't Clary (and by extension, Jace) be a part of that perfect, happy ending? It wasn't as if this was an already established storyline. Its only brought up in this finale. I really think it wouldv'e been sooo much better to have just given them all a happy ending! Clary and Izzy as parabatai, living their lives as Shadowhunters. It just feels bad, especially after having her say she wouldn't give up the shadow world for anything. Also, truly, what life did she go back to? I'm so curious. Everyone that was in her mundane life was now apparently gone.

2024-08-14 00:37:40 +0000 UTCWe were robbed. I feel this show was getting better with every season. They could have played a dark Magnus and so many other great storylines. The angels are truly horrible. Clary saves not just the shadow World but also the mundane world from Jonathan and they still take her gifts away because she did not follow their edict. Her rune drawings were a gift from the angels and because they did not agree how she uses it while they sit on their hands and watch everyone die, they snatch it away. It is mean and spiteful. Despite everyone telling her that she did not know what a shadowhunter is, Clary turned out to be the ultimate shadowhunter who sacrificed herself to save the world. She used the rune full knowing what the consequences could be. The least the angels could do, is have a silent brother or an iron sister train her to use the runes in a proper way. It comes off as prejudiced and bigoted that they only sounded the warning after she bonded downworlders with Nephilim. Alec and Magnus is the ultimate Shadow World power couple. The Inquisitor of the Clave and the High Warlock of Alicante. Very impressive. My hopelessly romantic heart has to believe that Jace and Clary's love broke through the angels' banishment. After all, a shadowhunter loves only once and completely ❤️

2024-08-14 00:02:39 +0000 UTCI love this finale, especially considering everything that was working against the show! The reason Maia and Luke were mostly absent from these final two episodes is because since the show was cancelled and green-lit just two episodes to wrap everything up, they HAD to film it at a certain date, and both Maia and Luke’s actors were in the midst of filming other projects, so they could only be on set for a day or two. (Luke was filming IT Chapter 2 & Maia was filming a show called Raising Dion)
