I never considered Gabriel to actually be Loki, I feel like that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. He definitely fooled other gods though, theoretically including Norse ones like Odin, so I don’t know. Then again this show trying to say that all gods and religions are real and all did exist and played out I also don’t think makes sense? 🤷♂️ Not Dean straight up holding a gun at whoever answered the door in plain view of said person, LOL. I genuinely forgot what was happening with Jack and Mary. Didn’t know where they were or what they were trying to do. Oh, so he gave himself a face transplant to look like Loki. That lines up more than I thought it would, hell yeah. Damn bro, how long does it take Sam and Gabriel to climb up like three flights of stairs at full sprint? If this is Loki playing a trick, that “I’m a whole new guy” line was a little too on the nose for me. Dean’s whole thing is starting to get tiring to me tbh. I know there are character reasons and he’s coming from a good place, and honestly I very much relate to what he’s saying, but it’s kind of grating to listen to at this point. From a human perspective, it’s incredibly understandable and honestly in a way I can respect it about him. But narratively it feels super played out and repetitive to me. It doesn’t feel different enough each time it happens, so it just feels like treading old ground. I’m looking forward to seeing if that changes though. I was super tempted to just let this one be “the guy who plays Loki was previously on the show as Gabriel”, lmao. We’ve highlighted the guy who plays Narfi before, as he was on the show previously. Lots of voicework including the merchant from RE4R. Always thought he looked a bit like David Harbour. Fenrir was also previously on the show though, as a demon that the boys and Bobby interrogated while looking for Crowley in season six. Plus he’s done a lot of smaller roles in a lot of stuff. 17!

It would have been interesting, but I'm glad that it wasn't Loki pretending to be Gabriel playing Loki this whole time. If that's what you meant. During Gabriel's whole speech about being tortured by Asmodeus, I was thinking how Sam and Dean both were tortured in hell for a LOT longer than Gabriel was tortured by Asmodeus. So they totally understood what Gabriel was talking about, and that they knew they wouldn't be able to talk him out of it. Maybe if they'd used their own experience to explain it to Gabriel, he would listen. Likely not, though.
