Strangely enough, even though this season was a decent one, I’m kind of super relieved it’s over. The Mark of Cain story is kind of exhausting to me. More than many other long story arcs, it feels to me like the same thing over and over again, plus it has some of the most frustrating brother bullshit. This season has some of my favourite episodes but after this rewatch I put it lower on my list than seasons eight and nine, and honestly maybe even seven. The villains and some choices in seven were kind of ass, but it felt less annoying to me than this. Maybe I just feel this way this time though, who knows. If I were to watch the season again in the future my views could be different. This episode is a nice conclusion to the story though, even though Death’s death (lmao) seemed to be a bit random. I like that Crowley mentioned before that Death’s scythe can kill Death itself, at least supposedly. I guess this is our confirmation? Assuming Death is actually dead. Wild that he lasted this long considering the first time we meet him, his scythe had been missing for quite some time I think. This ending was also a bit confusing though, like if the Darkness hadn’t been released, I would have no idea what ground the brothers stand on. Like I assume they’re going to be with each other because they might be being attacked by this smoke, but like. If it hadn’t come would they just be like “damn bro that was wild” and then dip to the bunker, or. LOL. Regardless, here’s to another season done! Season eleven is the last one that I remember decently well, and I may not have even finished season twelve, I’m not sure. So I’m almost entirely blind moving forward, I’m excited. I’ll probably start watching ahead soon so I can experience the episodes unfiltered for the first time and then double back here. I’m looking forward to it! 🤙 The girl held captive was Gen in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series, and Rudy the hunter was a character I’ve seen in Resident Alien. Super funny show. 17! I’m committed to the bit, and it’s still technically possible.
