Your right a sacrifice is something willfully given. Losing his mom and dad was just a straight up lose. I can't help but believe that worse.

Anthony Schroeder

Let the SIN BEGIN!!

Jeremy Glenn

Losing his mother & father isn't his sacrifice tho. On the flip he was forced to sacrifice his childhood & get into hunting and protect because of his dad I'll give you that

Jeremy Glenn

Yellow eyes actor did great. I enjoyed it was the same host rather than jumping around. Buddy crushed it

Jeremy Glenn

I don't think it was meant that seriously XD I think that was just a joke about the amount of show that is still left and how much sacrifice that might still bring.

BexFangirl

I agree, but I think they could have mentioned trying to kill the demon or getting the colt back or finding a different way, a couple of times in between the motw eps or something like that, just to keep that a bit more at the forefront of our minds.

That’s a wrap! Season two is a strange beast for me, the transition it had from the style of the first into fleshing out the world had a bit of growing pains, but now the show can do and be more because of it. I feel like the stage wasn’t fully set at the end of season one, and now we’re prepped for anything. As a finale, the two-part throwdown finale with The Demon™ is a little sudden, but I like it. Holds a special place in my heart. It also surprised me on first watch that the Demon was dead after season two. Not because I think they should have dragged it out a whole bunch or anything, but because I didn’t know what was going to be the big overarching thing now, besides Dean’s whole situation. Here’s to season three! Holy water def shouldn’t have been the test they used; Yellow Eyes was unaffected when they had possessed John last season. Kind of weird that they trusted it imo. Also special shoutout to the actor playing Yellow-Eyes, I fucking love him. 10/10. And I hope people realize that the not sacrificing enough was a goof about the length of the show, lol. 💚 Appreciate you doing the recap, haha. If it ever gets to the point where you feel like it shows too much, I would recommend doing them after watching the finales like people have mentioned, just because it's sort of a party for the fans. But if it's not for you and you decide to skip them, that's totally valid too, obvi. Hope people aren't going insane about it. Big love bro. 💚 The actress who played the crossroads demon has apparently been in a bunch of horror stuff. 17!

I love Dean's speech in the beginning. Jensen kills it. I also really like the delivery the actress playing the crossroad demon gave. Pisses me off that Sam lies to Dean here. He should have told him everything he learned from the yellow eyed demon. Yeah, unfortunately they did end up filming the bit with Jeffrey Dean Morgan separately with green screens and stuff, and it's kind of jarring imo. I love the performance the guy playing the Yellow Eyed Demon gives. Great reaction as always! Can't wait to dive into Season 3 with you :) Sending you happy thoughts <3 P.S. 34

I forgot to mention! Great to have Ellen and Bobby back on screen and to help in the finale. Seeing Bobby so heartbroken and angry for Dean and what he did is like a gut punch. I really like the symmetry of the season with Dean now selling his soul to help Sam Vs in the beginning John doing the same for him.

We finally made it! This season is one of my favourites, probably partially due to nostalgia. But imo a lot of these episodes still hold up really well and there are lots of twists I still wouldn’t see coming if I was watching this for the first time. I like this finale a lot and even though I’m not a John fan I’m glad he was here to help out in some way when they finally killed the yellow eyed demon. I also wish he would have said something but I’m unsure when or how this was shot so maybe it wasn’t possible. It’s funny I’ve seen this episode a million times and every time I remember it that he shoots the yellow eyed demon between the eyes, I’m probably mixing it up with the vampire in my mind tho. I agree I wish the shot was a bit more dramatic but overall I liked it. Like someone else said I wish Dean also said it was for Jessica, just because she was such a big part of Sam’s life. The first half of the episode where we see Dean’s reaction to losing Sam is heartbreaking. But it’s also nice to see that emotional side to Dean, which only Sam seems to be able to bring out. I think, even tho it’s a bit out of character for Sam, him killing Jake is totally rational and justified. But the overkill on it with seemingly no reaction is a bit concerning. Season 3 is shorter because of the writers strike which is unfortunate from a story telling point but it’s still a great season! Can’t wait to watch more!

Rachel

The body disintegrating wouldn’t have made sense, since we already know demons just possess human bodies.

Davonte Morgan

Hmm big disagree with you on Dean hasn't sacrificed enough. He lost both parents, his childhood, forced into hunting and to raise his brother and then said brother just died in his arms.

Gigi

To be fair about the plot Lenth of yellow eyes story line everything the demons are doing has to be in the shadows or covered up under the guise of other events. The demons are playing a game of espionage. If they went to big other hunters would have caught on like Gordon and the kids would have been hunted. Maybe even other supernatural creature that were against yellow eyes war. its my belief that the demon who informed Gordon about Sam did it on purpose. Yellow eyes probably wanted him to kill Gordon in cold blood to turn Sam to the dark side. Otherwise its a bit to conveniant how avas abducted right after meeting and saving Sam.

Anthony Schroeder

Sorry another point occurs to me. You said that you don't think deans sacrificed enough. Not after two seasons you said. But I think you got to remember what deans life is like. Mary died when he was four by the time he was eight he and his four year old brother was left to fend for them selves at sketchy motels for weeks at a time. Think about the types of places that are going to ignore two small children all alone then think of the shit that probably happened. No family or friends because he had to keep a secret. At this point in the series all he has is his car and brother. And his brothers dead. What's left for dean to sacrifice. He never really had a life so yeah he is right let the world end. Would not change a thing for him anyway. Your probably thinking about bobby but at the end of season one we find out that john and bobby had a falling out and it has been years since they saw one another. Sams life is even more pathetic he only has Dean

Anthony Schroeder

not to give too much away, but they do poke a bit at the writers strike in the next season. I love how meta this show can be

Aaaand that's the last ep. for season two. Great finale. I love this episode, especially the first half (right up until Ellen pops up). All of Dean's emotions etc. Thank you so so much for doing the recap! I think this one is actually the only one of the finale recaps that is really spoilery (#sorry), they got quite good with concentrating more on making a general recap for the season, than hinting what exactly will happen, but the finale recaps just get better through that. So keep it up. ;) I'm so sorry, but that goodbye scene with John at the end always makes me laugh, because that green screen is just throwing me off so much. I actually didn't notice until this watch with you, how small the overarching plot with the yellow eyed demon and the psychic kids etc. in this season was. I agree they could have done more. I'm still pretty happy with season 2. I did like the connected plot with the starting out with John's deal for Dean, then Dean not being able to accept that situation and getting tired of everything etc. so we would end up here where Dean is even more willing to make that deal for Sam than he already would have been without this state of mind. Where will we go from here? Guess we'll see. I'm excited for it. Like you said season 3 is a shorter one. Which is because of the famous writers strike. Now I'm very excited for the wrap up video tomorrow first though. Hope you have an amazing day. Bex PS: I don't care that we have more numbers, I'm sticking with my 12 until it finally gets rolled.

BexFangirl

One reason I love about this season finale is it's really well executed. Well written lines, like war's just begun. The switch of Dean making the deal like his dad did. And the "we got work to do" like Sam did in the pilot. I agree it wasn't perfect, including I would have liked John to have told Dean-especially how proud his, and of Sam, too. I also think Dean should have included the line "And for Jessica" because it wasn't just for their mom <3 but overall it was a really well written/and acted finale

Natasha G

Agreed with the body situation. Dean was just doing the only option he knew. It wasn't necessarily the best option, but he was in big brother mode

Natasha G

Okay that shot with dean shooting yellow eyes really should have got an award for most anime shot ever produced in a nonanime. Secondly Dean did not really have time to search for another option to resurrect Sam. The body needs to be fresh otherwise they stay, well, maggoty. Third notice that Sam did not reveal that yellow eyes knew their mom or the demon blood Coarsing through Sams system. Also yellow eyes was immune to holy water. I don't know about an exorcism. Basically the higher up a demon is in he'll hierarchy the less weaknesses they have. Lastly Sam shooting Jake was not evil. Not only did Jake stab him at this point he knows what dean did. So yeah he lite upthe guy who murdered him And damned his brother to hell.
