I think the "God's will" comment at the end was a little much. I loved your comment about the motel rooms XD I think it's funny how all the motel rooms look so similar with slightly different decorations. Great reaction as always! Sending you happy thoughts <3

2023-03-26 19:40:30 +0000 UTCThis episode was always one I liked. It’s a glimpse into the possibility of there being another side besides “evil”. I really liked how the brothers had different views but both inch a little closer to the others by the end of the episode. It’s also always interesting (although sad) to hear Dean talk about their mom. I’m not religious but I can see both of their views. Seeing that much evil would make it hard to believe in good but on the flip side it would make you want to.

With what they do and what this show is about, it’s sort of baked in. I do like how they went about it here though, with the brothers’ views being different and even how the case wrapped up. This instance was a spirit and not an angel, but it’s also left somewhat open-ended in terms of what kind of truth could still be out there. The boys ended up shifting their ideas a little bit towards each others’ at the end too. I definitely can’t speak for anyone but myself obviously, so I’m not sure if this statement is going to make any sense, but I think being non-religious helped me quite a bit when watching this show. I’m also not particularly someone who believes there needs to be some kind of balance either. Watching this episode back when I was first moving through the show (giving no indication of my current opinions, lol), I was open to the idea that there was no holy counterpart to demons. A lot of different things in culture and lore are referred to as demons, and we’ve seen “demons” exist in several stories (movies and stuff too) where they’re not necessarily the stereotypical kind, and don’t have any sort of opposite. But this show has already explored different entities (including creatures) from all kinds of different backgrounds, so the possibilities are pretty much endless. It's an ambitious kind of show to want to make, so kudos to the showrunners and Kripke on that at least. Stoked to keep exploring different ideas with these characters. I talked a bunch already so I’ll just mention that the first woman who ended up in the psych ward does a bunch of Lego voices, Princess Leia in particular (until Skywalker Saga). She was also Kiyomi in Death Note. 17! (I think that's like four of them now, fuck yeah)

2023-03-26 00:16:47 +0000 UTCThe first time I watched this episode it was an okay ep. for me, but having seen a couple youtube reactions to it and now this, I do like it quite a bit more. Still not my very fave episode by any measure though. As a religious person myself, I agree, whether you believe or not, as long as you don't force anybody into your believes or non-believes or hurt anybody with your believes, it's okay. I was raised christian and even went to an evangelic school for a couple of years, my parents, my sister and my grandma are all religious as well, while my moms sister and her kids are all not religious, but we all still get along just fine and can accept the others different believes. Honestly without wanting to take away from the gravity that faith has for many people, thinking about this just now kinda reminded me of fandom discourse, like shipping for example... if you don't hurt or force people with your opinion... Sorry, that got a bit long. Hope you have an amazing day. Bex PS: we definitely had that number a couple times now, but still not the one I've been saying from the start... I really should have went with a number I like better XD I prefer odd numbers a lot to even numbers, but oh well, I'm gonna stick with my 12.
