On the one hand I totally get why Sam is upset that Dean didn't tell him anything about it, considering its directly about him and his life. But on the other hand I can totally understand why Dean, who has essentially had "PROTECT SAM AT ALL COSTS" drilled into his mind by John while they were growing up, would basically be blue screening over the concept that John told him "hey so uh, you might have to kill Sam" and not know how to handle that. Could also see him not telling Sam as his attempt to protect Sam.

I can see where he’s coming from, even if it seems a little unhinged, he’s consistent in his beliefs and behaviour, and he’s written and acted in a way that almost makes me like him. He even has that little piece of go-away heat from me sometimes, just to to lightly flavour the experience. He may not be crazy interesting, but I think he’s a good example of a simple concept executed really well. If this had been a random store-brand character slotted in as the antagonist but was written the same, I’d be like “wow, this hunter is acting a lot like Gordon.” Okay, end of Gordon praise. Man, fuck that guy. If something has reached its highest point, it has “peaked”, but when someone says something that you’re curious about, your interest has been “piqued.” Keep in mind that Ellen basically said that even without any of the Roadhouse crew saying anything, which she says they didn’t, some hunters would still be able to put together the story about Sam. Especially if they had gotten a clue, like Gordon did with that demon mentioning a “war.” I also really love the codeword thing. Dean sounded pretty natural, and you can sort of see Sam’s face change subtly after he says it, I think. And the fact that “funky town” is something they were confident they could work into casual conversation is very very good shit. Weird one this time, her scenes were deleted, but the actress who plays the Blakes’ mom in The 100 was originally in this episode. She’s also apparently a stunt coordinator and performer for a lot of big recent Marvel stuff, like the tv series and movies. Pretty nifty. 17!

I really have no clue why, but it's still the first thing that comes to my mind if I think about it today. XD I like that they have the codeword set up and that we didn't know beforehand made it even better. Intriguing episode. I see you have a lot of questions, that's good. Will be interesting to see where we'll head with those. Hope you have a good day. Bex PS: I'm still sitting on my 12 over here. Off-topic but it's used in the Matrix Resurrections trailer, which is edited together in a really cool/epic way and matches the themes of the movie with the lyrics of the song.
