Supernatural 1x8 "BUGS" UNCUT Reaction

Supernatural 1x8 "BUGS" UNCUT Reaction

The pausing and talking is part of a reaction channel. I domt understand why people watch a reaction channel and then complain about how they react

Staton Chapman

I personally got back the Patreon BECAUSE I love the pausing and talking, and even when you go on your whole tangents and deviations XD

YannaS

lol I do, but I don't mind

Jeremy Glenn

I get the impression you have complaints about the pausing and talking lol. I myself come here to watch because you have an amazing personality.

Leanne Howes

It was we had fun, went a bunch

Alex Leonard

I can see why people dislike it. It's just kind of here lol

Jeremy Glenn

Hopefully the trip was worth it

Jeremy Glenn

Yep, far far away from the best episode! They get better now!

This episode is widely disliked in the spn world, but I don't think it's that bad. I mean I'm not gonna rewatch it a lot, but there are episodes that I'm less likely to rewatch. "people have done fanfiction with these" - oh you can bet they have. The ship is called wincest (which I'm not shippin just fyi) and it's not that small a part of the fandom, it's not the biggest part either though. Oh yeah those boxes to put your arms in to guess, I can't do it. Truly fast sunrise. I think the many layers are because they were shooting in canada. I have no clue what a dollar coin looks like, but I know it's heads or tails and I guessed tails right (fun fact: in german we just say "kopf oder zahl" aka "head or number"). Have a lovely day Bex PS: Sticking with the 12.

Damnit! I guessed heads, lol

Also apparently Dean smacking Sam's ass was improvised, 10/10 Wanted to add that in some small part I actually like that they didn't really solve the problem in this one. They've been hunting for years, but they still don't know everything. I like that this threat introduced the idea that there are things in the world that you can't stop every time. It highlights the danger level, I think.

Oooof, I was one away on the roll. Dagnabbit. I just find Travis in this episode delightful. He was also in Sanctuary, that I watched because Amanda Tapping is in it, but I really enjoy the actor. Poor Dustin man. To think that he could have just gently brushed off the bugs and he would have lived XD. The realtor is crazy to me. For one Sam says excuse me, and she just wanders off in such a weird unnatural way. But what's worse is not only did she hardly react to the bug being on her face, she didn't form a hunting party and go track the thing down and kill it. That's just not human behavior. Like, "Oh, big ass spider on my face, oh well" and then carries on about her night. Just bizarre. Also it bugs (haha) me that the dead spiders they found weren't in that curled up position that spiders ALWAYS die in. It's like "Oh do we have a bug problem?" Nope, false alarm, the Halloween store is missing some rubber spiders apparently. Sigh. This episode is widely recognized throughout the whole fandom as awful. If someone doesn't like an episode you can usually respond with, "well at least it's not Bugs" and you're suddenly on the same page XD. The night lasted MAYBE 10 minutes. Apparently the plot needed it so the earth decided to spin faster. Ugh. And they didn't actually solve anything, but whatever. The only saving grace is getting some more information about Sam and John's relationship. You saying "Dean just came in with a truth elbow" cracked me up so hard. I swear the bugs used to gross me out when I originally watched this, but now I have two bearded dragons (Drogon and Paarthurnax (Paarty for short)), and all I was thinking when those roaches came up out of the ground was, "Damn, the boys would go crazy over those" XD. I don't care what crazy nature curse is after my house, my dragons would save me from the bugs. :) What's sad is if you watch conventions and behind the scenes stuff (which I hope you do eventually, because Jared and Jensen are delightful), they actually used real bees for the end. Jared and Jensen had to get stung and everything to make sure they weren't allergic, and Jensen was all worried he's make them mad with his little improvised flamethrower. Sad thing was they went to a bunch of effort to have the bugs be real, but back then it was shot on film and they didn't show up well enough. Not that the bugs being real for the finale could have saved the episode, it's just a lot of wasted effort. I love how diplomatic you were at the end of this episode XD. Great reaction as always! And hey, I warned you this post would be long :) Next episode's post may be a little long in the tooth, but hopefully nowhere near this. You're the best! Sending you happy thoughts <3 P.S. I guess I'll go with 4......

That night passing in a matter of like four minutes is one of my favourite jokes made about this show. Sam literally says "it's 12am" when they're outside the house, it's *actually* insane. I think this episode is seen as a bit of a low point by a lot of people, including the people who made it actually, iirc. Eric Kripke has said that he flat out doesn't like it, and the cast and crew make jokes about it. The consensus online is that Bugs is "the one episode of Supernatural everyone hates." But it did spawn one of my favourite stories about the show. When they were shooting the scene in the attic, they actually had something like 65k live bees on set flying around, much to the actors' dismay. The whole crew was up there in protective suits. But the director of this episode -- and one of the most favoured directors to work on the show -- Kim Manners (also a popular X-Files director) said that if his actors had to endure it, so did he. So he shot that sequence in the attic in shorts and a t-shirt. Everyone got stung. Like, a lot. The kicker? The bees barely showed up on camera, if at all. So they had to go in and do the bugs digitally anyway. Yikes. A lot of the spiders were real too, there are interviews with the guest stars that would give people nightmares. This episode is one of the many that feature actors who were used for multiple roles in the series. It's happened in earlier episodes and I made a joke about one, but there isn't too much of a point in mentioning them ahead of time I guess. Although the actor who played Matt was also in Letterkenny. I'm kind of indifferent on the episode overall. I do really like the insight that Dean gets about how Sam viewed his relationship with their dad, and conversely how Sam finds out that their dad didn't sever ties with him when he went to school. Important stuff. 17!

The only time I ever went to Oklahoma was when I went to a casino, we lived in TX & drove about 40 minutes to get to the casino
