I get ppls feelings on the last episode. I feel like after a couple of rewatches I did grow to love and respect the finale more and I think this is kinda why for the most part: I think Lucifer's decision to respect Rory's choice of not wanting her life to have changed and feeling she needed that experience to understand her own emotions/power in a similar way as Lucifer was a good finale act of love to Chloe and himself. If he had stayed, none of what would have been able to happen, it would be re-written in a sense and the season wouldn't make much sense lol. Also I thought there was an understanding that regardless, they'll all be together basically forever or a long time at some point. He let his daughter decide if she wanted differently. It was still heartbreaking though that Chloe didn't spend her mortal human life with Lucifer which is why I thought the bittersweet ending fit.
