2023-01-26 05:07:37 +0000 UTCHalf the principle cast's participation in the finale being a few shots in slow-mo during a montage definitely felt super weird, but I guess I don't think it's too big a deal. The callbacks and sort of reincorporated jokes or moments were effective in plucking at my heartstrings. Also Amenadiel asking Chloe if she's ready to go home and she shows up in Hell knocking on the therapist's office door, I love it. I do agree with you about the whole loophole thing, but I'm a little divided on it overall I think. While I feel like him promising to not come back to earth in order to keep the version of Rory that he met (cause if he was there, the version of Rory that comes into existence wouldn't be the one that Luci and Chloe met as an adult) was sort of like a "final test" in terms of his growth in making sacrifices for others, I also feel like it's sort of a weird subversion of the whole theme of free will being the most important thing. Like they spent a lot of the show working their way to that conclusion and then the last big obstacle is resolved by (while admittedly not for the reason Rory initially thought) sort of accepting the rules of time travel and not being able to find a solution and just kinda being controlled by the limitations of it. Regardless, I'm super happy I watched this show with you man, excited to see what comes next, in whatever form that takes. <3

Also, in the last episode, when they were sitting next to the piano and kissing, yep that was improvise to! I absolutely adore Lauren and Tom!<3
