Battle of the Bulge was an infamous last ditch effort by the Germans in WW2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Bulge And coming up, it is indeed Detective Amenadiel, in more ways than one!

2022-12-29 14:48:28 +0000 UTC1946 was the year my dad was born. Everytime i randomly come across this episode I feel like it's his way of reaching out and letting me know he's still around. Which probably sounds ridiculous to some, but it comforts me.

This was a really fun reaction but you picked up on all the connections to the story going on back in present day and I was so impressed. There is a lot of detail and inferences, references etc in that fun episode that I missed first time around! Luci saying 'the Devil solving crime was ridiculous' and never had made a real human connection because it would take a 'miracle' to make that happen- so clever and funny too and so many more. I think the actors must have had a great time playing this episode. I would expect a blooper reel from this episode alone! I thought it was a clever and interesting way to let us all know about the ring- Like you I decided it is another thread unravelling for us to gather up when the writers are ready to divulge more. The next four episodes are really good as we get back into the main story (keeping this bit of information from this episode in the back of our minds for later!) and find out what is going to happen next to all our characters and when and if their issues will become deeper or be resolved.
